Why GPA Is Not an Unweighted Average of Letter Grades
A three-credit course should influence the term more than a one-credit lab. Averaging letter grades as if they were equal credits overstates light courses and understates heavy ones.
Institutions also differ on plus/minus maps, pass/fail exclusions, and whether a failed attempt stays in the GPA. This page computes only the rows you include.
